Why did you discontinued the non-matter version?

It can be only added to Apple Home if you have Thread capable device...otherwise, enjoy constantly re-connecting the light bulbs with Bluetooth..I had an older version which doesn't rely on Thread connection and it worked fine with Apple Home and automations

Trash Products and Terrible "Support"

I was hoping for Nanoleaf to become my go to brand for lighting. They seem to cover all the basics solidly while also being very innovative. I saw lots of positive reviews online too. But honestly these are trash. I only bought them cuz I was excitedthat they were using the matter standard already when so few are. For me, matter is meant to simplify smart home setup and maintenance. I only use the Google Home app and I don't want to download proprietary apps for every single smart home brand that I might have products for. So if they don't setup seamlessly through the Google Home app, it's a no go for me. These were supposed to do that, but then after trying multiple approaches I finally contacted customer support. Spent HOURS talking with them, they were very robotic and unhelpful. Spouting off answers like they were reading an FAQ! I didn't feel supported at all, or like Nanoleaf cared. After trying so many methods and things that honestly are not my problem, but Nanoleaf's for designing such a trashy product. Apparently the issue was that Nanoleaf forces you to use a 2.4ghz wifi (even though 5ghz is super common now). I just can't believe they didn't consider this when they were designing the lights. The only options I had were to return the lights or get Nanoleaf's app for setup. But again, why would I do that when Matter is supposed to be seamless setup for whatever app I want to use?? I'm honestly frustrated that I spent so much energy and time trying to force thera lights to fit my life when honestly it's not my responsibility as the customer to do that.

I'll never buy Nanoleaf products again because the products obviously aren't throughtfully designed and they don't care about supporting their customers more than an FAQ can.

Matter bulbs and HomeKit do not work

I have been trying and trying to get the Matter bulbs to work with HomeKit and unfortunately they will not. I have tried everything under the sun and nothing works connection is intermittent at best. I have about 20 pre Matter Nanoleaf bulbs and they work great no issues with HomeKit. At this time I would not recommend the Nanoleaf Matter bulbs if HomeKit is your intended ecosystem.

Bright, But Do Not Connect Well

The lights are great with a lot of colors, but they struggle to connect often.

Not on par yet with the non-matter A19 bulbs for Apple HomeKit... yet

I bought 6 Matter A19 bulbs and have been using the original non-matter A19 bulbs with my 3 HomePod mini's for a few years. The original A19 bulbs are practically flawless in operation. The matter bulbs have some bugs that need to be worked out. There is a Reddit post which points out what to do (and works) that is solved by turning off the Nanoleaf App's sync feature. This vastly improves issues with bulbs not responding. Even so, I will still sometimes have one bulb in a group of 3 that won't turn off when given the command. I know the CEO is pushing the company to go to matter, and progress is a good thing, but for those of us who know the experience on the pre-matter bulbs, it's not quite there yet. I'd give 4 stars but I wanted to call attention to the issue because it is likely solvable in software fixes.
