Wouldn't purchase again. Controller has issues pairing to wifi (won't pair to hidden wifi at all), and one of the panels consistently has issues with colors syncing correctly. Order was originally delayed by over a month with promises of future discounts that never were provided.
Very well made and high quality lighting. It eliminated the need for any lights in our living room, and the scenes are just cherry on top of the cake!
I recently ordered the Nanoleaf shapes hex panels, and both the first order and the replacement came packaged poorly and scuffed up as a result. The panels have a very sensitive matte finish that could be scuffed by a light fingernail touch, and they have no protection during shipping. All panels packaged in the kit came face-to-face and rubbed up against each other creating varying degrees of splotchy scuff marks. The top panel is face up in the package with a small box on top of it that holds the sticky backings to put on the wall, and that box created the worst scuffing of all the panels which were comprised of parallel scuff marks aligned with the edges of the box. The splotches don't really show up much when the lights are on, but the parallel lines on the top panel do. Pretty unacceptable for such an expensive product to ship without protective plastic or even tissue paper separating panels, and while support is very open to replacements, they don't seem to understand the underlying issue. Still working with support on a resolution, and I will provide an update if one arises. Make sure to inspect your panels thoroughly...
This is my third nanoleaf product - I loved the Aurora panels, but the shapes are easier to connect to the app and now I can set the setting for timed on rather than just the last setting the lights were on. However, three days after putting them up, the adhesive on the entire set failed and it came crashing down to the hardwood floor. Luckily, none of the panels or connectors were damaged, but getting them back on the wall was not easy. I tried 3M command strips, but the way these connectors work, I could not make keep them connected while mounting (unlike the Aurora, those press in place). I eventually mounted them with foam double sided tape, but they won't come down from the wall without damaging the paint now. Other than the poorly designed single adhesive point that isn't nearly as sticky as previous nanoleaf products, I'd vie this a five star.
I thought I had a controller issue as others have reported. It turns out that it was a bad connector. If you’re having issues try switching the connector attached to the controller. My shapes have been working great after the fix. Just ordered a second set w/ an expansion pack.
